ST LAWRENCE JEWRY
Wayward apprentices in the City of London seem to have been an issue since the mid 18th century. After re-writing the original Rule Book created in 1740 to give to the new Freeman of the City of London, Canon David Parrott commissioned ASHA to redesign and promote the updated version of ‘Rules for the Conduct of Life’.
As part of the launch strategy we created eight catchy headings to feature on eight different limited edition dust jackets for the book.
Whilst working on this project, we took the opportunity to give St Lawrence a new identifying mark.
The ‘Rules for the Conduct of Life’ is available to purchase from St Lawrence of the Jewry at a price of £10.
I’ve enjoyed giving the Rules a modern make-over, because it’s an often overlooked, gem of a book. It may be a small volume, but it’s big on wisdom and common sense and if it can make some people in the Square Mile better-rounded, it will have achieved its goal.
